Our team at Elati Photography has photographed many spectacular weddings in the region. Here are some of the best winter wedding destinations in Colorado.
Denver Botanic Gardens
The Denver Botanic Gardens at York Street offers a unique and glorious wedding venue throughout the winter. Winter is wonderful time at the Denver Botanic Gardens since the park showcases the annual festival of lights. Plant and trees throughout the garden are enlaced with colorful and decorative lights which make for a unique and spectacular backdrop of your photos. The gardens at York Street contain diverse plant life from all over the world and follows picturesque horticultural traditions. You can have your photo shot beside internationally inspired garden styles, as well as ornamental and water gardens. The gardens are filled with flowers that reflect Colorado’s own climate. Ceremonies here allow up to 1000 guests to be seated outside.
The second venue is a rustic, working farm at the Chatfield Botanic Gardens on the bank of Deer Creek near the Chatfield Reservoir. This farm is filled with colorful meadows of wild flowers and nature trails. Up to 250 guests can be seated in an area under a canopy, but if you’re planning a larger wedding, the lawn can seat as many as 1,000 guests. When you book your wedding with this venue, you’ll get two hours of ceremony time in the open air chapel and also a reception either underneath the garden canopy or in the Green Farm Barn. Seating is available in the barn for up to 150 people.
Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek mountain resort located in the White River National Forest has some of Colorado’s most magnificent views. The venues at Beaver Creek are also some of the most elegant in the state. Planning a winter wedding in Beaver Creek will involve fresh alpine air, rays of sunshine and plenty of romance. There are lots of venues to choose from here but you better plan a big budget as Beaver Creek also hosts some of the more expensive venues in the Rockies. Whichever venue you choose, we’ll be sure to make good use of the breathtaking landscape to create stunning images..
Devil’s Thumb Ranch
Devil’s Thumb Ranch is an award-winning Eco resort and spa located in the Colorado countryside that has been welcoming guests since 1938. The ranch is a great venue for weddings, with its romantic views and rustic décor. The ranch sits on its own land, separate from any townships giving it more of a genuine country feel. There are lodgings on site, making it convenient to accommodate guests.
Devil’s Thumb Ranch now also has a purpose-built barn, specially suited for weddings. At 4,200 square feet, the High Lonesome Barn can accommodate 350 guests. If you’re looking for a more intimate space, the barn’s hayloft has been customized for smaller weddings.
The Devil’s Thumb Ranch also offers a smaller venue; the Broad Axe Barn which can seat up to 160 people. If you choose to venture off the ranch, there’s a range of activities just a short drive away to entertain family and friends from out of town. Picture their faces when they realize that as well as helping you celebrate your big day, your loved ones will be able to go fly fishing, hiking and skiing in the beautiful surroundings as well!
